Job Summary – Health Care Assistant UK
Affordable Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to our patients, supporting their daily needs and ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role involves working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to our clients.
Important Duties
- Patient care: Help patients with everyday tasks like eating, dressing, grooming, bathing, and moving around. Make sure patients are safe and comfortable at all times. Vital indicators, such as blood pressure, temperature and pulse, should be measured and documented. Keep an eye out for any changes in the patients’ health and notify the nursing staff.
- Medical Support: Help with basic medical chores and procedures while being supervised by physicians or licensed nurses. As instructed, administer medication and record the care given.
- Personal Support: Offer patients social and emotional assistance. Pay attention to their worries and send pertinent information to the right medical specialists.
- Hygiene Maintenance: Keep patient areas clean and safe by following infection control procedures.
- Documentation: Make sure that medical records and care plans accurately record patient data, care actions, and observations.
- Use of Equipment: Maintain and operate mobility and medical equipment utilised in patient care. Report any issues or repairs that are required.
- Teamwork: To guarantee a coordinated and comprehensive approach to patient care, collaborate with other healthcare providers.
- Education and Training: To stay up to date on the best practices in patient care and healthcare, take part in continuing education and training programs.
Requirements
- Education: Health and Social Care NVQ Level 2/3 or a comparable degree. It is ideal to have certification as a Health Care Assistant (HCA) or Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Experience: It is beneficial to have prior experience in home care or care home environments. Applications from recent grads are accepted.
