In this position, you will be responsible for giving patients vital support in a variety of settings, such as home care settings and assisted living facilities.
Your main duties will include:
- Helping patients with personal care activities like clothing, grooming, toileting, and bathing.
- Assisting with manual labour and movement, including properly repositioning and moving patients.
- Assisting patients with feeding and food intake monitoring at mealtimes.
- Measuring and noting vital indicators such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
- Monitoring patients and informing the nursing staff if their condition changes.
- Under supervision, helping physicians and nurses with basic clinical procedures.
- Keeping clinical spaces and patient rooms tidy; replenishing supplies and changing bed linens.
- Offering patients friendship and emotional support while upholding their respect and dignity.
- Following the right infection control procedures, which include using PPE and washing your hands.
- Accurately recording the care given in records or care plans.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate treatment.
Skills:
- Fluent in written and spoken English for efficient interactions with coworkers and patients.
- Prior experience in home care or care home environments is beneficial but not required.
