We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in keeping our kitchen environment clean and organised to ensure the smooth running of everyday operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to get experience working in a busy restaurant or hotel environment, assisting culinary workers and helping to provide a high standard of service.

Responsibilities

  • Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots and pans to health and safety standards
  • Help with basic food preparation activities under the supervision of chefs or kitchen supervisors
  • Cleaning all sections of the kitchen, including flooring, work surfaces and storage places
  • Storing and organising clean dishes and cutlery in an effective manner
  • Assisting the kitchen team during busy periods by ensuring supplies are readily available
  • Complying with all health and safety rules including food hygiene standards
  • Assisting with garbage disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with business policy

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food preparation, cooking or hospitality is helpful but not essential and training will be given to the right person
  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel environment is a plus
  • Good organising skills and an eye for details
  • Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment efficiently
  • A positive mindset and a readiness to learn new skills
  • Availability to work shifts as needed including evenings and weekends if needed
