Role of a personal assistant or support worker:
Social Care Alba is seeking a Support Worker/Personal Assistant to oversee daily care, provide individualized, outcome-based care, and enable clients to lead full, active lives. You will assist people and their families both physically and emotionally to promote independence by conducting business in a courteous and dignified manner.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing assistance to clients
- Being a Key Worker and advocating
- Moving and helping with catheter care
- Promotion of human rights and equality
- Shopping, cooking, and social gatherings
- Reporting complaints, problems, or mishaps
- Promotion of continence, medication, and dressing
- Handling one’s own workload
- Entering and exiting each visit
- Participating in and attending meetings
- Maintaining electronic documents, like daily notes
- Staying informed with SCA policy and care laws
- Participating in all pertinent training and development initiatives
Candidate requirements:
- Two years or more of experience in a comparable position is preferred.
- A health or social care SVQ 2 or its equivalent is preferred.
- Outstanding: Caring, dependable, and trustworthy
- Excellent planning and time management
- Good: The capacity to work autonomously and pro-actively
- Effective communication with various audiences
- Basic: Safety and health knowledge
- Fundamental: Knowledge of best practices in health and social care
- Experience as a care worker, social worker, home carer, caseworker, care assistant, or social worker is advantageous
