What you will be doing:
- Providing leadership to the care workers and supervising the efficient functioning of the service during the night.
- Overseeing personnel who provide clients with support while they complete everyday routines, such as bathing, eating, dressing, grooming and using the bathroom.
- Monitoring the wellbeing of each service user, updating care records to reflect any changes, and communicating changes to the registered nurse.
- Administering medication in accordance with the agency’s policies and supporting service users with their medication needs.
- Acting as a point of contact for families and professionals, ensuring that reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns are raised.
- Organising supervision and appraisals for care personnel, rota planning to ensure there are suitable staff on duty with the necessary skill mix.
- Audit care records against corporate policy to ensure compliance.
What we are looking for:
- Level 3 Health and Social Care Vocational Qualification.
- Experience of working in a similar position and setting.
- Experience of working with service users, especially those with significant assistance needs.
- Good writing and verbal English skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the multi-disciplinary team, service users and their families.
- A caring problem solver, who can adjust swiftly to conditions and create measures to enhance health and welfare.
- A leader who can induct and orientate new personnel to the job function.
