We are looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to oversee a care home registered for people aged 16 and over and to ensure we meet Ofsted criteria. The chosen applicant will manage a team to deliver high quality assisted living and nursing care with a specialism in dementia and Alzheimer’s care. The position calls for good leadership and management abilities and a thorough awareness of care rules to provide good service delivery in a regulated environment. The Registered Manager will be key in preserving the home’s reputation for outstanding person‑centred care, providing a safe and supportive environment for residents.
Duties
- Lead and manage the day‑to‑day operational management of the care home in line with all legislative and regulatory obligations including the standards set by Ofsted.
- Develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans to meet specific needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
- Oversee the processes for dispensing medications, ensuring strict adherence to safety guidelines.
- Provide leadership, training and performance management to staff team members to guarantee high levels of care and supervise and support staff team members.
- Conduct audit of quality assurance processes and apply improvements where appropriate.
Resident & Safety Responsibilities
- Build and sustain good communication with relatives of residents, healthcare providers and other agencies to support collaborative care.
- Health and safety rules are followed and a culture of constant improvement is promoted so that all who live there are safe.
- Optimise operational effectiveness by managing budgets, staffing rotas and resource allocation effectively.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience in managing in a care home or comparable elder care setting.
- Extensive expertise of assisted living, nursing home operations, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care and home care services.
- Experience of developing and managing care plans for complicated requirements, such as dementia or neurological diseases.
- Experience of managing in a regulated care environment with strong leadership skills.
- Familiarity with drug delivery processes within a residential or nursing setting.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations including CQC/Ofsted requirements and safeguarding policy.
- Proven ability to lead teams, while maintaining high standards of person‑centred care.
