This is a terrific chance for you to move up in your IT and audio-visual (AV) career. We’d love to hear from you if you have a background in or a passion for technology.
You would be joining our small, experienced standard support team as either a 1st or 2nd line support person. You would work in a fast-paced atmosphere where you would gain experience and face a variety of difficulties and challenges that would help you become more knowledgeable.
You will collaborate with the team to give our students and staff great IT and AV service. No two days will be the same. You will help and give guidance in person, over the phone, and through our ticket management system (TOPdesk).
You will be a vital player in building an amazing IT and AV infrastructure at our world-class university that focuses on research and teaching. As a member of our team of 21 first- and second-line analysts, you will help with administrative, teaching, and learning activities at the institution. Your main tasks will be:
- Fixing problems and giving advice on a wide range of hardware, such as audio and video equipment, operating systems, and software.
- Looking into and making minor repairs to hardware and audio/visual equipment.
- Helping to set up and install DDaT-supported equipment in classrooms, conference rooms, and offices as needed.
- Helping us make our knowledge base and self-help guides better.
- Doing projects and small tasks as needed and as staff resources allow.
You want to grow your career in IT and AV, and you like addressing software and hardware problems and getting “hands-on” with providing exceptional assistance. You will also get:
- Good at talking to a lot of different people and providing great customer service.
- You will know one or more operating systems, such as Windows, MacOS, mobile platforms, or audio-visual equipment, either because you studied them, are interested in them, or work with them.
- Have used a lot of different Office programs before.
- Ideally, you should have some expertise fixing simple hardware.
- Have the drive to do things on your own.
- Be able to work by yourself, with others, or with your peers.
- Be good at getting along with other people.
- Be able to handle multiple tasks at once and prioritise them well when working in a busy, customer-facing setting.
This job is full-time (36.5 hours a week) and permanent.
