Role overview
Enaifo Foodies Ltd is a fast developing multi-site retail enterprise with convenience and specialist food stores in Scotland. We sell a mix of African and Caribbean food and grocery products as well as normal convenience groceries to cater for the greater local community.
We are seeking an experienced Area Retail Manager to provide operational leadership throughout our stores. This position reports directly to the Director/Owner and will require regular travel between our retail sites.
The successful candidate will have good store management experience, and preferably a good grasp of African and Caribbean food and grocery products, including consumer tastes, product ranges and stock requirements.
Duties
- Oversee the daily operations and performance of several retail outlets.
- Develop, execute and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at various locations.
- Make sure you meet licenses, trading standards, health and safety and company needs.
- Train and support retail teams and Store Supervisors. Manage and
- Manage workforce planning and recruiting of non-sponsored personnel.
- Monitor stock control, inventory levels, procurement, and product availability.
- Review branch performance in sales, profitability, stock turnover and loss prevention.
- Ensure good management of African and Caribbean niche product categories alongside mainstream convenience grocery.
- Prepare operational reports and performance information for the Director/Owner.
- Work with the Business Analyst, and store teams, to find operational improvements.
- Resolve operational concerns and maintain uniform customer service and retail standards.
- Liaise with local authorities, licensing agencies and regulatory entities as appropriate.
- Support the ongoing development and consolidation of the Company's multi-site retail operation.
Skills
- Experience in retail management or many retail locations.
- Experience in managing or overseeing retail staff.
- Sound understanding of stock control, procurement and inventory management.
- Good organization, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to analyse commercial and operational performance information.
Wanted
- Excellent understanding of African and Caribbean culinary and grocery products.
- Experience in African, Caribbean, foreign cuisine or specialist grocery retail.
- Experience within a convenience or grocery store environment in Scotland or the larger UK.
- Experience managing various retail sites and executing SOPs.
