Overview
Product Manager, Destination Sport Experiences, Manchester hybrid role. This fixed term maternity cover is based in our Manchester office, so you must live within a commutable distance. Destination Sport Experiences, through its global sports travel brands Marathon Tours & Travel and Sportive Breaks, caters for those who want to participate in the best cycling and running events across the world. We offer tours, travel packages, and guaranteed entry to marathons and cycling events, with VIP hospitality access to many top professional cycling events, and we manage travel programs for mass participation events for charities, companies and groups. We are a partner of many Abbott World Marathon Majors and work with major sports event organisers globally. The team regularly participates in running and cycling events and supports clients throughout each journey.
We are now looking for a Product Manager to join our Manchester-based operations team on a fixed term basis. Our Product Managers are responsible for the operational delivery of our trips and this role will work on our TriTravel events from initial planning and contracting services required through to event delivery. The role is described as exciting and varied, with typical duties described below.

Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of TriTravel events focusing on the operational delivery
- Liaise with hotels, transport companies, event organisers, and other external suppliers
- Assist with contracting hotels, including negotiation of rates, commission, etc.
- Manage the product and keep the website up to date
- Ensure the product is loaded correctly on to the website for sale
- Monitor the sales position of product and suggest appropriate actions
- Work closely with internal Commercial, Sales and Marketing teams
- Assist customer service teams with customer queries
- Assist in new product development to grow the TriTravel portfolio globally
Qualifications and Skills
- Natural organiser and communicator with strong operational experience
- Working knowledge of travel; experience in sports travel, especially mass participation events, is desirable
- Experience in an operational product, event or project role
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to take full ownership of each product’s budget
- Strong negotiation skills with experience in contracting
- Excellent planning and event management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Solid knowledge of travel and accommodation services for events
- Excellent interpersonal skills for internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Understanding of marketing and sales strategies within the fitness industry
- Knowledge of sustainability and health and safety requirements
- Strong operational delivery and customer service skills
- Self-starter with the ability to manage event logistics
- Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to last-minute changes
- Customer-focused with excellent relationship-building skills
- Team player with the ability to work toward shared objectives
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) and intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of booking, inventory and reservations systems is desirable
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for work
- This is a hybrid role with an expectation of 2 days in the office
