Destination Education is currently recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants for a range of supportive and inclusive schools across Redbridge. We are working with primary schools and specialist provisions looking for dedicated SEN professionals who can provide high-quality support to pupils with additional needs. These opportunities are ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants who are passionate about helping children reach their full potential within a structured and nurturing environment. Roles are available on both a long-term and permanent basis, with immediate starts and September positions available.
The Role Includes:
- Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, and behavioural challenges
- Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
- Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
- Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
What You’ll Be Doing:
You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff to support pupils with additional learning needs both inside and outside the classroom. Your role will involve adapting support strategies to meet individual pupil needs, helping manage behaviour positively, and building strong relationships with pupils to support their academic and social development.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant within a UK school
- Experience supporting children with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- A patient, proactive, and supportive approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Right to work in the UK
