Main Purpose of the Post
To assist the Service Manager in the day-to-day care functions of the agency. To take accountability of the day-to-day running of the service. The on-call is shared as verbal agreement. To supervise and evaluate the delivery of care and support to ensure care staff are designated appropriate work assignments, to ensure full and professional care is delivered to the service users. To maintain the quality-of-care service which will be in accordance with standards set down by Desired Care 4 U Ltd. To ensure compliance with company policies and all statutory and regulatory requirements. To be fully conversant with Health and Social Act, Published by the Care Quality Commission.
Key Responsibilities
- To assist the manager in the implementation of staff rotas to meet the needs of the service users and to ensure they are in accordance with company guidelines, profile match to the service users’ needs, preferences, and contracted times.
- To have full knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2005 and the Code of Practice in accordance with the company needs.
- The role is essential for using a device and CRM system.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of new care and support workers.
- Assist the manager in implementing quality assurance initiatives to improve the quality of care offered by the company.
- Maintaining accurate records including care plans, review notes, service user contact sheets, medication, and financial transaction sheets.
- To ensure the correct accident and incident reporting procedures are followed.
- To inform the necessary multi-disciplinary team and the Manager of untoward changes in service users’ conditions.
- To stimulate interest and positive attitudes in personnel; to develop an understanding of service users and the implementation of pro-active care.
- Providing care and support services on the zones as relief cover for Holidays and sickness or other absences.
- Providing care services at a senior level as part of an area care team.
- Providing on-call cover for the agency as per agreement.
