Job Summary
Note: Looking for staff in the Dudley Area (Dy1, Dy2, Dy3, Dy4, Dy5, Dy6, Dy7, Dy8, Dy9) ASAP required! We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high‑quality care to residents in a care home setting, supporting their daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and well‑being. This role requires strong communication skills, a good command of English, and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members. Experience in home care or familiarity with care plans is advantageous.

Full time carers REQUIRED, based in the Birmingham, Sandwell, West Bromwich, Smethwick, Dudley, Handsworth, Handsworth Wood and Erdington area many more in Birmingham area.

Shifts
Weekly rota shifts and shifts will start from as early as 6/7am till 9/10pm and this includes weekends (Saturday and Sunday) too. Flexibility available and night work.
Training & DBS
A full DBS check will be carried out and preferably looking for full time and with experience however we are flexible with hours and we do provide training.
Responsibilities
- Provide a range of personal, social, emotional and practical care tasks as required for the mental and physical well‑being of service users living in their own homes within the community.
- Social duties include shopping; talking with service users, helping to maintain contact with family, friends and the local community, escort duties which may include e.g. supporting service users to the shops/bank, to the GP and health needs in accordance with each individual person’s health action plan, working as a keyworker/co‑keyworker to coordinate and develop the support to the individual including Health Action Plans and Person‑Centred Plans, undertaking essential domestic duties to assist service users to care for their homes (e.g. cleaning, cooking, laundry), encouraging service users to retain maximum independence by creating a supportive homely atmosphere.
- Refer to the Registered Manager for equipment or services needed by service users (e.g. meals‑on‑wheels, incontinence supplies).
- Assist service users where instructed by the Manager in the management of their income, paying rent and other household bills and keeping a strict account for each transaction.
- Attend training courses as required to develop skills and knowledge to improve the quality of service provision.
- Maintain professional knowledge and competence.
- Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities within the scope and spirit of the job purpose and grade as may be required.
Qualifications
- Experience and understanding of care provision
- Skills in caring for vulnerable adults
- Satisfactory Police check and check against the ISA Check
- Ability to understand and cope with emergency situations
- Liaise with office staff, social workers, service users and service user family members
- Maintain high standards of care provision
- Excellent communication skills

Additional Information
The post will require travelling between base, service user’s homes, other Desired Care 4 U premises and any alternate venues to provide services. Within Desired Care 4 U there is often a need to use or be party to confidential information. The unauthorised use or disclosure of any user or other personal information, whether in verbal, written or electrical format, or through negligence is regarded as misconduct that can become subject to Desired Care 4 U disciplinary procedure. It could also result in prosecution or civil action arising from various legislative acts including the data protection act. Staff are expected to act with integrity both inside and outside of the workplace. Acts that could cause disrepute to the PCT or call into question a person’s suitability to continue in their role may have to be regarded as issues of gross misconduct.
