Dsg is looking for a driven professional to join the Strategy and Product Innovation (SPI) division as a Manager / Senior Manager. In this role, you will shape the future of Singapore Design by turning research and insights into strategies that deliver real impact. You’ll work with senior decision-makers, collaborate across government and industry, and contribute to initiatives that advance Singapore’s economic, social, and environmental outcomes through design. About DesignSingapore Council Pte Ltd (Dsg): Dsg’s vision is for Singapore to be an innovation-driven economy and a loveable city through design by 2025. As the national agency that promotes design, our mission is to develop the design sector, help Singapore use design for innovation and growth, and make life better in this UNESCO Creative City of Design. Dsg is a subsidiary of the Singapore Economic Development Board.
About the Strategy & Product Innovation Unit (SPI): The SPI Unit supports Dsg leadership to chart Dsg’s strategic direction to develop the design sector, delivering real impact through design. We do this through research that generates action-oriented insights, strategy development and implementation, and creating and maintaining a portfolio of financial and non-financial offerings.
Responsibilities
- Research and Insights: Use qualitative and quantitative research to surface opportunities, risks, and insights that shape strategy. Key activities include:
- Conduct futures and horizon scanning
- Analyse economic, industry, and policy data
- Conduct competitor analysis to identify benchmarks and best practices for Singapore
- Partner with stakeholders to co-create national strategies that grow Singapore Design
- Work with internal teams to set divisional priorities and actionable workplans
- Define success metrics to demonstrate and strengthen design’s impact and Dsg’s contribution
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience in strategic planning or corporate planning, ideally in or with the Singapore Government.
- Proven ability to generate and synthesise qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights. Comfortable using Excel (and similar tools) for analysis.
- Experience facilitating processes from start to finish to achieve outcomes.
- Strong track record of building effective stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills – Papers and presentations are how we communicate and turn ideas into action.
- Knowledge of strategy, organisational development, and strategic and systems design frameworks and approaches is a plus.
