You will play an integral role in leading and shaping the marcomms strategy for Dsg, executing Dsg’s overall marcomms efforts, with a focus on strengthening market positioning locally and internationally. The role will strengthen Dsg’s storytelling and public-relations work while advancing Dsg and Singapore design’s international standing through strategic communications. It will also support integrated marketing communications activations that elevate Dsg’s and Singapore design’s role in shaping economies, systems, and everyday life.
DesignSingapore Council’s (Dsg) vision is for Singapore to be an innovation-driven economy and a loveable city through design by 2025. As the national agency that promotes design, our mission is to develop the design sector, help Singapore use design for innovation and growth, and make life better in this UNESCO Creative City of Design. The Dsg is a subsidiary of the Singapore Economic Development Board.
To develop Singapore into a thriving innovation-driven economy and loveable city by design, the Brand, Marketing & Communications (BMC) division raises the level of design appreciation on home ground by amplifying Dsg’s initiatives, publicising Singapore design and designers, and advocating the impact and value of design. The division also advances the Singapore Design Brand internationally, elevating Singapore’s reputation as a leading UNESCO Creative City of Design and a thought leader for Global-Asian design excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead PR management, media relations and narrative development to keep DesignSingapore Council (Dsg) top of mind in local and international media.
- Building Dsg’s and Singapore design’s global relevance through international engagement, reputation and reach.
- Drive integrated marketing activations (paid, owned, earned) that amplify key programmes and festivals.
- Oversee always-on communications, including content strategy, community engagement, and audience development, to build sustained relevance and trust.
- Oversee and track metrics, insights and other performance data to refine strategies, strengthen impact, and inform future planning.
- Serve as project lead on priority initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams toward OKRs, and working with divisions to translate initiatives into clear and accessible marketing communications tactics.
- Draft & distribute media materials (releases, advisories, factsheets, speeches).
- Cultivate a press network across local and international media.
- Support Dsg’s international relations work to strengthen Singapore’s visibility and reputation as a leading UNESCO Creative City of Design.
- Handle international speaking opportunities and overseas platforms for Dsg leadership and priority spokespeople, including message prep, run-of-show, briefings, and post-event follow-ups to convert visibility to advance Singapore design’s standing.
- Manage inbound and outbound international engagements, including planning and hosting foreign delegations and embassy / mission representatives during key moments, ensuring the experience is well-curated, on-message, and outcomes-driven.
- Maintain and grow relationships with international design organisations and networks, supporting communications, participation, and collaboration opportunities.
- Execute content marketing plans, ad buys and content syndication across social, SEM, display & OOH.
- Co-own Dsg's always-on channels, maintaining engagement and hygiene.
- Manage specific projects, coordinate cross-functional meetings, and drive achievement of Dsg’s targets.
- On rostered basis, handle community management, responding to inquiries on email and social media.
- Prepare procurement documentation for purchase of required services, such as appointment of creative and agencies.
- 3-5 years (for Manager) and 5–8 years (for Senior Manager) in integrated communications and marketing, with successful track record in media relations, PR campaigns and multi-channel marketing within the public sector, cultural or creative industries.
- Demonstrated ability to manage agencies and deliver KPIs for both earned and paid media.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field. Professional certifications in Digital Marketing (Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, etc.) are advantageous.
- Strong communicator with excellent writing, editing and media-pitching skills.
- Solid grasp of performance-marketing metrics and tools.
- Well-developed stakeholder and project-management capabilities.
- Comfortable operating in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
- Results-oriented self-starter; diplomatic collaborator; able to juggle multiple deadlines with attention to detail.
