An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing Growth & Marketing team at DesignScene & Secret Theatre. We are seeking an experienced Senior New Business & Marketing Manager, someone as comfortable leading conversations with clients as they are shaping the narrative behind them. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented global team on visionary creatives and producers delivering creative and innovative projects worldwide at markets such as CES in Las Vegas, OMR in Germany, SXSW in Austin, and Cannes Lions in France, alongside B2C events and privately owned client events.

What is the main purpose of the job?
We are looking for a Senior New Business & Marketing Manager to shape how the agency is presented to the market: leading prospective client conversations, developing tailored credentials and independently managing the journey from first meeting to won work. You will have opportunities to travel and be on the frontlines of some of the worldâs most exciting events. This is a highâtrust role with real responsibility. You wonât be supporting growth, you will be driving it.
The role sits within the Marketing department, reporting to the Global Chief Growth Officer (London). The team includes a Content Manager (South Africa), Creative Strategist (New York) and Senior Experiential Strategist (France).

What do you have to do?
- Opportunity development & credentials leadership
- Prepare tailored credentials and narratives for each prospective client or meeting
- Lead discovery conversations and first meetings
- Identify the real problem behind requests
- Shape scope before formal RFP where possible
- Convert conversations into qualified briefs
- Represent DesignScene globally when senior leadership is unavailable
- Pipeline & relationship management
- Conduct regular market research on clients, competitors and vendors
- Qualify and progress inbound and outbound opportunities
- Secure key commercial information (budget, scope, decision criteria)
- Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline tracking
- Proactively generate opportunities through relationships, partners and market insight
- Lead followâups, keeping prospects engaged and obtain feedback
- Develop opportunities into repeat and expansion of project scope
Marketing & visibility
- Manage the content creator (based in SA, part time)
- Create fame for DesignScene, positioning us as thought leaders and experts in our field, using Secret Theatre as a unique offering
- Maintain credentials and case study pipeline
- Coordinate award entries and submissions
- Support targeted outreach and thought leadership
- Ensure agency materials reflect current capability and positioning
What are the skills required?
- 6â8 years experience, ideally within an experiential, creative or production agency
- Confident leading client conversations, meetings and presentations independently
- Commercially minded, understands scope, budgets and margin implications
- Able to qualify opportunities and challenge both internally and externally
- Strong written communication and narrative building (credentials & proposals)
- Organised and structured, able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
- Proactive and selfâdirected with good judgement and accountability
- Comfortable representing the agency internationally and travelling when required
- Confident collaborating across international teams and time zones
- Strong presentation skills and ability to clearly articulate ideas and value
- Passion and enthusiasm for experience, design, with creative flair
What technical knowledge do you need?
- Competent use of Apple OS, Google GâSuite, Microsoft Office, Apple Keynote
- Understanding of CRM tools
- Aptitude to learn our other platforms such as Slack, Airtable, etc.
- An interest for AI tools that can help the Growth & Marketing department to be more efficient
