Location: Crayford

Salary: GBP45,000 to GBP50,000 per year.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.45am - 5.15pm (1-hour lunch break).

Bridge Recruitment is assisting a well-established client in recruiting an experienced HSE Manager to join their expanding team. The role reports to the Operations Director.

Responsibilities of the HSE Manager:

  • Overall responsibility for all health and safety functions within the business.
  • Implement and maintain ISO14001 EMS accreditation.
  • Align H&S requirements with ISO45001 standards, preparing for potential accreditation.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance policy requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  • Induct new employees on health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation and developments.
  • Lead training sessions for managers and employees on health and safety issues.
  • Record inspection findings and propose improvements with follow-up actions.
  • Ensure safe installation of equipment and works.
  • Manage compliance for site visitors.
  • Conduct fire risk assessments.

Requirements of the HSE Manager:

  • Accredited qualification in Health and Safety related to manufacturing; a Bachelor's degree is advantageous.
  • NEBOSH certification.
  • Proven experience with effective H&S systems and ISO14001 EMS.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Leadership skills to manage staff and lead departments towards common goals.
  • Additional H&S or environmental qualifications are a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Energetic team player capable of multitasking and decision-making.
  • High self-motivation and commitment to company values.
  • Willingness to engage in detailed work on the production floor.
