Hours: Monday Thursday, 9am 5.30pm. Fridays, 9am 3pm.

Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit for an experienced Design Engineering Support Engineer to join their ever-expanding team.

Responsibilities

  • Design support: Assist in the creation and modification of CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation for new and existing products.
  • Prototyping and testing: Support prototype builds, testing activities, and data collection to validate and refine product designs.
  • Documentation management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Liaise with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams to gather requirements, resolve queries, and support project deliverables.
  • Engineering change management: Assist in the preparation, tracking, and implementation of engineering change requests and documentation.
  • Continuous improvement: Contribute to process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and design optimisation activities.
  • Issue tracking: Support the management of reported issues, quality initiatives, and corrective actions as directed by the Design Engineering Lead.
  • Team support: Provide general technical and administrative support to the design engineering team, including meeting preparation, minute-taking, and action tracking.

Requirements

  • HND/HNC or Bachelors degree in Engineering, Product Design, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a design engineering or technical support role within a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools & PDM systems (e.g., SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Engineering Change Management processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Smartsheets is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and directives (e.g., CE, UKCA, ISO) is advantageous.
