This isn’t just a print job. It’s a chance to build something. We’re a specialist wallpaper printing studio in the heart of Hackney Wick, producing custom wallpapers for interior designers, architects, and luxury residential projects. We also offer commercial print services to the local creative community. We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just want to run a print shop — but wants to grow one.
The Opportunity
- A Xerox Versant 180 (digital production)
- An established wallpaper printing operation
- A commercial print side with huge untapped potential
- A prime location in one of London’s most creative neighbourhoods
What we need is someone who can take this and make it bigger.
What You’ll Do
- Run the operation: Manage daily production — wallpaper printing, commercial print jobs, sampling, dispatch. Handle walk-in customers and trade enquiries.
- Grow the business: Build relationships with interior designers, architects, and creative studios. Actively sell our wallpaper printing services to the trade. Develop the commercial print side — bring in new clients, grow revenue. Spot opportunities and make them happen.
- Take ownership: Run the studio independently when the owner is away. Make decisions, solve problems, keep things moving. Treat it like your own business — because one day, it could be.
Who You Are
- You have experience in digital print production (large-format experience a plus).
- You’ve worked with customers — quoting jobs, managing expectations, building relationships.
- You’re commercially minded — you think about growth, not just getting through the day.
- You’re proactive — you don’t wait to be told, you see what needs doing and do it.
- You want autonomy and responsibility, not micromanagement.
- You’re looking for somewhere to build a future, not just a stepping stone.
What’s In It For You
- £38,000 - £45,000 base salary depending on experience.
- Bonus tied to business growth — if you grow revenue, you share in it.
- Real autonomy — this isn’t corporate print, it’s a small business where your decisions matter.
- Potential ownership stake — for the right person, there’s a path to equity and eventual succession.
- Work in Hackney Wick surrounded by artists, designers, and makers.
The Ideal Candidate
Honestly? We’re looking for someone who’s a bit entrepreneurial. Maybe you’ve run your own print business. Maybe you’ve grown a department or brought in new clients. Maybe you’re stuck in a big company or institution and want to build something real. If you’re the kind of person who sees a Canon Colorado and thinks "I could do so much with that" — we want to hear from you.
How to Apply
Send your CV and a short cover letter telling us: Why this role interests you. How you’d approach growing the wallpaper printing side of the business. No cover letter = no interview. We want people who take the time to think about it.
