Designer Recruitment are working with a fast-growing in-frame kitchen company in Cambridgeshire. We are seeking a Kitchen Designer to join a fantastic team, where your main responsibilities will be to design and sell bespoke shaker and handless style kitchens. Our client designs and manufactures beautifully handcrafted British kitchens, combining exceptional craftsmanship with thoughtful design and a highly personalised client experience.

This is a permanent role offering £30,000 - £35,000 per annum + a generous commission which could see your OTE reaching £70,000. This is an opportunity to work with clients investing in high-quality handmade kitchens, often as part of wider renovation, extension, and home transformation projects. Supported by our operational and client experience teams, you will be able to focus on what you do best: building relationships, creating inspiring designs, and guiding clients through their journey.

You will manage projects from initial enquiry through to design sign-off, helping clients bring their vision to life while delivering an exceptional experience throughout.

Kitchen Designer duties:

  • Conducting Discovery Consultations in the showroom, virtually, and occasionally in clients' homes.
  • Understanding clients' lifestyles, aspirations, and project requirements.
  • Designing beautiful and practical kitchens using their in-house design software.
  • Presenting design concepts, finishes, appliances, and investment options.
  • Guiding clients through the commissioning and design process.
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and managing follow-up activity.
  • Working closely with operations, production, and installation teams.
  • Taking ownership of your projects and contributing to showroom success.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong design skills with excellent relationship-building ability. You will be confident engaging with clients, understanding their needs, discussing investment levels, and guiding them through important decisions in a professional and consultative way. You are commercially aware without being pushy and understand that trust, service, and expertise are key to creating successful projects.

Kitchen Designer Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in kitchen design and sales.
  • Experience using kitchen design software.
  • Proven ability to secure projects and achieve results.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience within a premium, bespoke, or handmade kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of cabinetry construction, appliances, worktops, and interior design principles.
  • Experience using CRM systems.

What our client offers:

  • Competitive salary and uncapped commission structure.
  • Ongoing support, training, and development.
  • Opportunity to work with a growing British kitchen brand.
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Career progression opportunities as the business continues to expand.
  • Staff discounts and company benefits.
