Designer Recruitment are seeking a Junior Designer to work with a luxury kitchen company in the heart of Cambridge. This is a permanent position offering £25,000 - £30,000 depending on your experience as a Designer. In this role, you will work with the Sales Designers to support the sales process and assist in the creation and execution of kitchen designs for their clients. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about interior design, particularly kitchen spaces and is looking to gain experience in a creative and collaborative environment.
Junior Designer duties:
- Supporting Sales Designers with projects and customers
- Ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standards
- Providing additional support to the design team in the creation of kitchen layouts, mood boards, and visual presentations
- Working closely with designers to ensure the brief given is captured correctly and you are accurately representing the designers' vision
- Preparing accurate quotes after every revision and change is made
- Reviewing post-survey drawings and ensuring changes are made to relevant drawings and product information is updated
- Assisting in communicating with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and styles to help develop initial concepts and ideas
- Helping to develop and update designs using design software (e.g. VectorWorks, or other kitchen design software)
- Keeping the CRM system up to date and accurately using Excel to draft and update quotes
- Aiding in coordinating timelines, ensuring that projects are progressing on schedule, and ensuring all client requests are tracked
- Assisting in sourcing materials, appliances, finishes, and other products required for kitchen design, ensuring that the options align with the clients' vision and budget
- Liaising with the technical team on technical drawings and helping prepare 3D renderings, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Assisting in communication with suppliers to confirm product availability, pricing, and delivery timelines
- If required, attending site visits with the design team to measure spaces and ensure that designs are aligned with the clients' home
- Providing general administrative support, such as managing documentation, coordinating meetings, and assisting in managing client schedules
Junior Designer Skills Qualifications:
- A background in interior design, architecture, or a related field is preferred, but not essential
- Design Software: Proficiency in design software, particularly kitchen design programs such as VectorWorks
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is also required
- Creative Detail-Oriented: Strong creative skills with an eye for design and attention to detail
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with clients and suppliers
- Organisational Skills: Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and assist in various aspects of the design process
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically when faced with challenges
