We are seeking a highly motivated Trade Marketing Manager to join our UK team and shake things up at Designer Parfums challenging the way we work on all things trade marketing! You will be responsible for managing the UK trade marketing plans for our portfolio of exciting brands at Designer Parfums. This role will involve working closely with retail partners such as Boots, Superdrug, The Perfume shop and more.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating and delivering trade marketing strategies that maximize brand visibility and increase demand with retail and distribution partners.
- Work closely with sales, marketing & brand teams to achieve UK growth ambitions ensuring trade marketing programs are aligned with sales targets and marketing objectives.
- Manage the UK Trade Marketing Calendar and ensure all brand activation plans and artwork requests are executed on time and with excellence.
- Manage day-to-day communications with key retailer partners buying and marketing teams.
- Present at key customer meetings & provide strong thought leadership on marketing/promotional support.
- Bring creative & disruptive ideas on how to engage customers & consumers.
- Manage the review & analysis of promotional activities to maximize ROI & sales growth across all channels.
- Manage one direct report of Visual merchandising & events manager and ensure the execution of trade events is delivered on time and to brand guidelines.
- Manage the Trade Marketing budget and analyze performance and sell-out reports to optimize results.
- Keep abreast of key competitor launches and marketing activities of retailers to ensure Designer Parfums remain at the forefront of fragrance retailing.
- Work closely with the Visual Merchandising & Events Manager to ensure a strong brand presence in retail accounts, maximize the brand experience, drive key strategic sampling and promotional activation opportunities.
- Be the guardian of brand visual presentation liaising with UK Brand team to ensure brand guidelines and visual standards are being implemented across all touch points.
- Proactively and clearly communicate all trade marketing plans and key brand publicity with key stakeholders including retail operations, sales team, warehousing, customer services and management.
- Support the Senior UK Marketing Manager with presenting the UK marketing programme and provide Sales Managers with all appropriate marketing support tools.
- Ensure regular store visits to develop competitor intelligence and keep abreast with market developments.
- Work closely with the Sales Managers to ensure brand forecasts accurately reflect any planned promotional activity and that all activity is communicated well in advance for optimum supply.
- Manage all brand assets and ensure these are shared in a timely manner to 3rd parties; retail marketing and the digital teams as well as internal marketing and VM teams.
- Respond to and follow up on all inquiries from brand teams, sales teams, and accounts teams.
- Support on ad-hoc admin duties within the UK Marketing department (raising purchase orders, securing internal approvals & approving trade invoices).
Requirements:
- 2+ years in either trade marketing, sales, or marketing in a leading FMCG company.
- Fragrance, Personal care, beauty, or cosmetics experience is essential. Experience working in a beauty B2B business is a plus.
- Track record of managing key accounts from a trade marketing perspective.
- Marketing qualification or degree preferably in a business-related discipline.
- Microsoft Office package knowledge, especially PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook.
- Passion for all things beauty.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, and ability to work on their own with minimal supervision to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication as well as meticulous attention to detail to manage creative detail, copy and design.
- Core understanding of the relationship between Sales and Marketing within a retail, brand, or trade marketing role.
- Must have some knowledge of UK trade, ideally in beauty.
