Designer Parfums is a fast growing, dynamic global fragrance company in the perfume & cosmetics industry, with a UK base in London and international ambition, with active business in around 80 markets.

This is a hybrid role that requires working 4 days from the office and 1 day from home.
JOB PURPOSE
A Senior Packaging and Product Designer is an excellent all-round creative person who is passionate about using their design skills and creative thinking for solving marketing and design challenges. We are looking for someone who is able flex their skills as and when required and can ideally dabble in everything from concept creation through to products and POS development with a significant exposure to branding, primary and secondary packaging, and print collateral.
Your job will be to take our incredible brand portfolio and assist creatively. You will lead on creating original, highly creative design solutions across a broad range of creative projects that create impact and conversation within the fragrance and beauty industry.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To lead on the design of end-to-end creative projects for a broad range of requests, such as Packaging, POSM, Graphic design and renders. You will draw on insight and market research to understand audiences, generate ideas and create engaging creative concepts and visual communications that will engage and excite our target market.
- RDD process should encompass a holistic approach, factoring in aesthetics, impact, cost, technical constraints, commerciality, brand and marketing strategy in international markets, etc and know when to give more emphasis to other aspects beyond design.
- See projects through from concept, strategy, creation, resolution, to production and how it is then shared with the world.
- Knows how to manage and work simultaneously on multiple projects for multiple brands at the same time, and has full knowledge and understanding of each with laser precision (organise, prioritise and deliver on time)
- A passion for all things design, the arts, photography, culture, retail and fragrance and be tapped into the zeitgeist, trend forecasting and developments in society, and utilise all this effectively in your Research, Design and Development process.
- Understands the nature of working with an external client (license holder) and is familiar with the complexities of approvals and changes of direction that may arise.
- Be a brand guardian, fully researching and immersing into the brand's history, identity and future.
- Maintaining and upholding the brand ethos, guidelines and standards across all output without fail.
- Work closely and build a strong relationship with Brand Managers to deliver the best assets and content
- together and work collaboratively on new concepts.
- Presents their work and pitches their ideas to key stakeholders, internal teams, suppliers and license
- Excited to collaborate with external agencies and guide them on the brand vision and step in when necessary.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities and parameters and able to find solutions quickly.
- Take responsibility and pride in their work. Ownership for the positives and negatives, and knows when to adapt and learn along the way.
- Asks smart questions, unafraid to take risks, and champions new ideas.
- Willing to push the boundaries whilst maintaining the brand image.
- Ability to communicate effectively with non-native English speakers, internally and externally.
REQUIREMENTS
- Min 10+ years experience and/or a Portfolio to match
- Focus on Product/Packaging/POS/Graphic design
- Degree level or an equivalent qualification in design and/or have an outstanding creative portfolio demonstrating experience across a range of creative disciplines
- Self-motivated and organised with meticulous attention to detail
- Vast experience and expert knowledge of working across all platforms (360 project), Product Design, POS and In-Store material, Packaging and Graphic. Experiential would be a plus.
- Fluent in core Adobe CC (Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign…)
- Experience in 2D and 3D rendering (CGI/renders) mandatory (Solidworks,Blender,Keyshot, Rhino 3D, Vray or Cinema4D… SketchUp is a plus)
- Excellent knowledge of structural packaging, experience with printing process and the use of finishes and incredible eye for colour, detail and quality printed collaterals
- Industrial/CAD design and prototyping management – This would bridge between Design and NPD, with an emphasis on unique/ bespoke bottle designs/ ancillary design innovations
- Excellent typography/design and illustration skills
- Analyse market trends and create eye-catching, functional & sustainable solutions
- An out-of-the-box thinker and a lover of all things design, art & strategy
- Demonstrable experience in effectively coaching and developing team.
- Photography studio experience is beneficial if we want to create our own in-house studio in the future.
