JOB PURPOSE

To champion and drive the image and the profitability of the brands in the UK market, in accordance with global and local objectives, through planning, budgeting and implementing the relevant marketing activities, under the supervision of the UK Marketing Manager.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan the UK marketing Calendar in accordance with agreed budgets and guidelines from License/Global brand.
  • Develop ideas and work with the Trade Marketing team to ensure the brands maximise potential in all retailers and develop specific plans where necessary.
  • Build relationships with License/global brand teams and report on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
  • Work with the creative team on relevant artwork briefing projects & be responsible for approving artwork for the brand ahead of license/global brand approvals.
  • Plan and monitor the A&P spend on the brand(s) to maximise brand profitability & effectiveness marketing campaigns.
  • Define the media strategy, brief agencies, and follow up on the implementation. Analyse the results of the strategy and report results to the appropriate parties.
  • Manage and plan UK stock requirements for marketing initiatives (sampling tools, gwps, POSM) with the demand planning team. Alert management/relevant teams to any stock issues.
  • Present the marketing programme and provide the sales & trade marketing team with all appropriate tools to sell to the retailers.
  • Respond to and follow up enquiries from all relevant teams & licenses.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with the License/global brand teams and other company functions necessary to perform duties.
  • Understand the retail and consumer environment, staying up to date on relevant market and brand activity.
  • Carry out all administration duties relevant to this role.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Understands the principles of marketing, budgets, stock management, and strategic promotional activities, pricing and distribution.
  • Understands the relationship between Sales and Marketing and be able to balance the needs of the License/global brand teams, whilst being aware of the UK market.
  • Highly motivated and autonomous.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator and good listener.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Highly organised, flexible and able to multi-task.
  • Ability and confidence to work with people at all levels.
