Designer Group is a leading international M&E contractor delivering complex engineering projects across data centres, energy, industrial and building services sectors. We partner with some of the world’s most recognised organisations delivering high-quality, safe and technically excellent projects across the UK and Europe.
We’re hiring a UK Quality Manager (M&E) to strengthen quality across our UK operations. This is a hands-on, site-facing role focused on ensuring right-first-time delivery across mechanical and electrical packages: from installation through to commissioning and handover. You’ll work across multiple projects, supporting teams on site, driving standards, and resolving quality issues before they impact programme or client delivery.
You’ll take ownership of quality across M&E works, including:
- Implementing project quality plans, ITPs and inspection regimes
- Ensuring installations meet specifications, drawings and standards
- Leading audits, inspections and quality reviews across sites
- Supporting testing, commissioning and handover readiness
- Verifying materials, plant and equipment before installation
- Monitoring subcontractor and supplier quality performance
- Tracking quality KPIs and reporting to project and senior teams
You’ll play a key role in protecting programme, reducing rework and ensuring a high standard of delivery across every project.
We’re looking for someone who understands how M&E projects are delivered and knows where quality issues typically arise:
- Experience in M&E construction (building services, data centres, energy or industrial)
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and inspection systems
- Ability to read drawings, specs and commissioning requirements
- Experience managing defects, NCRs and root cause analysis
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- You may come from a mechanical, electrical or building services background — what matters is your ability to manage quality across both disciplines.
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering (preferred) or strong trade/technical background with QA/QC experience.
Work on high-value, technically complex M&E projects. Be part of a business known for delivery, quality and growth. Opportunity to influence standards across multiple projects. Clear scope to grow into senior quality or regional roles.
If you’ve worked in M&E environments and know how to drive quality on site — we want to hear from you.
