Designer Group delivers complex mechanical & electrical packages across commercial and infrastructure projects in the UK, Ireland and Europe. Our engineering model is different. We don’t carry large in-house design teams; instead, we partner with leading design consultancies and take full responsibility for how those designs are delivered on site.
We’re looking for an electrical engineer who understands how design translates into reality. Someone who can take a consultant’s design, review it against the constraints of the project, and make sure it actually works: on site, within programme, and within the commercial boundaries of the job. It’s about judgement, coordination and practical problem solving.
You’ll be working closely with external design partners, project teams and client stakeholders. You’ll review drawings, challenge where needed, make adjustments where required, and ensure the design aligns with how the project will actually be built. In fact, this role will suit someone who has come through site, project engineering or technical services and understands the realities of installation and delivery.
- Reviewing and validating electrical designs from external consultants
- Background in electrical building services (contractor side preferred)
- Experience working on live projects (commercial / fit-out / similar)
- Experience dealing with consultants, subcontractors and site teams
- HNC / HND / Degree in Building Services Engineering (Electrical)
If you’re currently in a project engineering, technical services or site-based role and looking to move closer to the engineering/design interface, this is a strong next step.
