Lead From the Front in a Growing Logistics Business
An established, family-run logistics company is seeking a hands-on Warehouse & Site Operations Manager to take charge of daily warehouse operations, site logistics, and FLT management – ensuring everything runs safely, smoothly, and efficiently.
This is a front-line leadership role where youll be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the warehouse: managing goods in/out procedures, optimising FLT coverage, and ensuring the Warehouse Management System (WMS) is used effectively. Youll also oversee the wider site operations, driving safety, compliance, and performance across the business.
What Youll Be Doing
- Leading and supporting a team of FLT drivers, ensuring consistent coverage throughout the day
- Overseeing goods in/out processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and smooth workflow
- Managing the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to maintain stock accuracy and streamline operations
- Taking ownership of site operations, ensuring a safe, organised, and efficient working environment
- Leading from the front, stepping in on the shop floor when required
- Identifying inefficiencies and implementing continuous improvement strategies
- Monitoring and reporting on KPIs, driving performance and accountability
- Managing site safety, security, and compliance, ensuring adherence to all H&S regulations
- Attending monthly management meetings, reporting on warehouse and site performance
- Conducting stock counts, audits, and site inspections to maintain high operational standards

- Proven experience managing warehouse and site operations
- Strong leadership skills, ideally with experience managing a team of FLT drivers
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with WMS systems
- Ability to proactively allocate and support FLT coverage to optimise logistics operations
- Highly organised, solution-focused and able to stay calm under pressure
- Excellent communication and people-management skills
- Strong understanding of site safety, compliance and operational best practice
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence
- Counterbalance FLT licence (required)
- VNA licence (preferred)
- IOSH / NEBOSH certification (advantageous but not essential)
