We are recruiting an EC&I Engineer (Electrical, Control & Instrumentation) for a contract position based in Wolverhampton. This role supports the delivery of safety-critical and high-integrity control systems for projects within nuclear decommissioning, defence, waste management, and nuclear new build environments.

The successful EC&I Engineer will be involved in the full engineering lifecycle, including design, development, testing, installation, and commissioning of complex electrical and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver EC&I systems for nuclear and industrial projects
  • Electrical design including control panels, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • PLC programming, configuration, testing, and fault-finding
  • Develop, test, and commission SCADA and HMI systems
  • Support systems integration, testing, and validation of PLC, SCADA, and simulator systems
  • Participate in technical problem-solving, investigations, and root cause analysis
  • Ensure compliance with EC&I standards, safety regulations, and engineering best practice

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an EC&I Engineer / Electrical & Control Engineer
  • Strong background in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation engineering
  • PLC experience with Siemens, Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Schneider, or similar
  • SCADA / HMI development and commissioning experience
  • Electrical design experience including schematics and control panel layouts
  • Knowledge of EC&I principles, design tools, and standards
  • Experience working in industrial, nuclear, or other safety-critical environments

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with high-integrity hardware or software-based control systems
  • Familiarity with EC&I design tools such as EPLAN, ETAP, or similar
  • Nuclear industry project experience
