Design Build Search is seeking a Facade Manager on behalf of our client, an established main contractor based in London. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful design, coordination, installation, and handover of all façade elements, working closely with design teams, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Review façade specifications and assess subcontractor proposals to ensure compliance with client and design requirements.
- Carry out technical evaluations and lead coordination meetings with design teams and subcontractors.
- Manage façade interfaces to ensure continuity of air and weather tightness.
- Develop and manage the façade programme in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Ensure subcontractors are provided with all necessary information for design development, procurement, and manufacturing.
- Chair regular progress meetings covering safety, quality, programme, and site coordination.
- Oversee technical submittals, Building Regulations approvals, sample submissions, and testing procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and coordinate façade material procurement in line with site logistics.
- Monitor key performance indicators, including progress, quality, procurement, and safety.
- Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and utilise BIM tools for quality assurance and progress tracking.
- Compile the Safety File and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) documentation for project handover.
- Manage variations, budgets, and programme implications in collaboration with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering façade projects of similar scale and complexity.
- Experience on data centre or technically complex projects is highly desirable.
- Relevant trade or construction-related qualification.
- Chartered status (e.g. MICE, MCIOB, or equivalent) is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of façade systems, UK regulations, technical drawings, and BIM software.
- Understanding of façade sustainability principles and experience with London-based construction practices is beneficial.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and deliver projects to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
