Design Build Search is seeking a Senior CSA Design Engineer based in the London Docklands. Our client is a well-established main contractor operating across Ireland, the UK, and Northern Europe, delivering projects in critical sectors such as data centres, life sciences, aviation, and high-value manufacturing. They’re currently looking to bring on an experienced Senior CSA Design Engineer to join a major data centre project in London Docklands. This is a great opportunity to get involved in a high-profile build and work as part of a strong, collaborative team.
In this position, you’ll take the lead on the design and delivery of Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) packages from start to finish. You’ll be responsible for making sure designs are practical, compliant, and ultimately deliver the best outcome for the project.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the development of CSA design packages and making sure everything meets project specs and regulations
- Reviewing designs with a focus on buildability and finding the most efficient solutions
- Managing packages through all stages – from early design and costing through to delivery on site
- Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Coordinating with MEP and design teams to resolve any clashes or challenges
- Keeping an eye on progress, flagging risks early, and helping keep things on track
- Providing input on value engineering and alternative design solutions where needed
- Ensuring drawings, reports, and documentation are accurate and up to a high standard
- Attending design meetings and site reviews as required
- Supporting a strong culture of health, safety, and quality across the project
What They’re Looking For
- Around 5+ years’ experience in a CSA design role on large-scale construction projects
- Experience in data centres or other complex/critical environments would be a big plus
- A degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (or similar). Chartered status is desirable but not essential
- Good understanding of UK building regulations
- Comfortable using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools
- Someone who can manage multiple workstreams and keep things organised
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with different teams
