An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Electrical Design Engineer to join a soon-to-be-launched Birmingham office, working closely with the Dublin team. This is a great opportunity to support the growth of the new UK hub while delivering major hyperscale data centre projects across the EMEA region.
The role will initially be fully remote. Once the Birmingham office is operational, flexible attendance will be required as part of a hybrid working model.
As a Senior Project Electrical Design Engineer, you will work within the data centre sector, leading electrical design packages from concept through to construction. You will act as a key point of contact for clients and design teams, ensuring delivery aligns with programme, budget and quality expectations.
You will provide technical direction to support engineers and BIM technicians, working both independently and collaboratively to ensure designs are delivered in line with construction timelines while maintaining high technical and quality standards.
- Must have electrical building services design experience within Data Centre engineering projects
- In-depth knowledge of electrical design and engineering techniques
- Working knowledge of Autocad, Dialux, Amtech, and REVIT an advantage
- Confident leading projects from the concept stage to completion
- Communicative and able to liaise with clients, architects, and project managers
- Manage the specification and design of Electrical Building Services systems for a range of projects
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Lead the Electrical Services design for a range of projects
- Design and specification of electrical services for various types of buildings and sectors
- Develop the electrical design standards within the organisation
- Mentor junior engineering staff
- Provide fully detailed tender packages and monitor installation/quality on site until project completion
- Tender report/analysis/recommendations
- Develop project scope with the design team/client
- Confidently use Microsoft Office, Autocad, Dialux, Amtech, and REVIT
- Take lead on projects with minimal input from the management team
