Part-Time Garment Technologist – Licensing Team (3 days per week), Liverpool
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Garment Technologist to join our Licensing team on a part-time basis (3 days per week). This role will suit someone with strong technical expertise, a keen eye for fit and sizing, and the ability to manage multi-category product development with a focus on quality and consistency.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring licensed product meets brand standards, providing technical support across the development cycle, and collaborating closely with internal teams, factories, and sourcing offices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead fit sessions, focusing on ensuring garment comfort, quality, and functionality.
- Create detailed technical specifications, construction guidelines, and measurement charts for production teams.
- Coordinate with suppliers and external laboratories to conduct fabric and trim testing (colourfastness, shrinkage, durability).
- Support the creation and maintenance of internal processes, manuals, grading, and documentation.
- Work closely with the Product Development team to ensure timelines are met.
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to garment construction, fit, and quality during development and production.
- Liaise with factories and the Design Arc Sourcing office to communicate technical requirements and resolve production issues.
- Maintain accountability for the critical path.
- Conduct ad hoc AQL and quality inspections as required.
- Assist with shipment sample approvals, ensuring alignment with sealed Pre-Production samples.
- Update internal grading, sizing, and documentation as needed.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in garment technology or quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of garment construction and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
