Desian Education are proud to be supporting a Winsford-based SEN school with their September recruitment. This school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable teaching assistant for a full-time temporary contract that will last the entirety of the academic year. This is an extremely rewarding and exciting opportunity to join a well-established SEND school with a temporary to permanent contract being considered for the right individual.

Your new role: As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting across the KS3 and KS4 classes. You will work collaboratively with and support the class teachers to promote the engagement, learning and focus of all pupils by utilising an array of learning equipment, supporting with general classroom management and building strong constructive relationships. All pupils you will be supporting do have individual EHCPs but are all high functioning with the majority working at the curriculum. You will support with interventions and boosters in all subjects, tailoring your approach to best suit individual learning methods.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Full “Right to Work” in the UK
  • Good knowledge of the KS3 and/or KS4 national curriculum
  • Relevant referenceable classroom experience
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification
  • Experience supporting SEND is advantageous
  • An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
