Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with a prestigious SEN specialist school in Warrington that supports disadvantaged pupils between the ages of 10 – 16. This extremely inclusive and holistic school are looking to appoint a number of motivated and reliable teaching assistants for full-time temporary contracts starting in September, with temporary to permanent contracts being considered for the right individuals. This is an extremely exciting and rewarding opportunity where you will play a pivotal role in the education and emotional development of pupils with SEMH.

Your new role: As a teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting pupils across KS2, KS3 and KS4 on a 1:1 basis, ensuring that each pupil's individual attainment, social and emotional needs are not only met, but at the heart of all operations. As all pupils you will be supporting have SEMH you will need to take a pupil-centred approach to support, tailoring strategies and interventions to aid in building strong constructive relationships and promoting positive behaviours.

You will also:

  • Support pupils to access their local community
  • Hold interventions and boosters in core subjects
  • Work in collaboration with teachers and SLT

What you need to succeed:

  • Full “Right to Work” in the UK
  • Relevant referenceable classroom experience
  • Experience supporting SEN. SEMH is highly advantageous
  • A passion for supporting disadvantaged pupils
  • Be able to commit to a full-time contract consisting of 32.5 hours per week
  • An Enhanced Children’s DBS or willingness to obtain
