Desian Education are proud to be supporting a mainstream primary school in Widnes that is at the heart of its local community as they are looking to appoint a number of experienced and motivated SEN teaching assistants for full-time long-term contracts starting from September, with temporary to permanent contracts being considered for the right individuals. This is an extremely inclusive school that is held in extremely high regard across the local authority.

Due to a large percentage of SEN intake, they are looking to appoint a number of teaching assistants to work with specific pupils on a 1:1 basis.

Your new role: As a teaching assistant within this school you will play a vital role in the education, development and inclusion of a specific pupil with SEND. Due to a large percentage of SEN intake with needs that include ASD, SEMH, PDA, PECA, etc across all key stages, you will be matched with your pupil based on your own relevant experience and how pupils respond to you.

Typically, your duties will consist of but not be limited to:

  • Implementation of positive behaviour strategies including traffic light systems, sensory play.
