Desian Education are proud to be supporting a single-form entry primary school in Runcorn that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to appoint an experienced and reliable teaching assistant for a long-term temporary contract within an SEMH designated provision. This is a full-time role where you will be supporting a class of 14 KS1 pupils with SEMH needs.

Your new role: As a teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting pupils with SEMH. You will offer tailored 1:1 support across the class, planning and delivering comprehensive interventions in key areas with an aim of building emotional confidence, well-being and interpersonal skills.

Other core duties will include:

  • Implement positive behaviour strategies
  • Deliver ESLA interventions
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO to boost attendance

What you need to succeed:

  • Full “Right to Work” in the UK
  • Be able to commit to a full-time contract
  • Having an NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification is advantageous but not essential
  • Previous experience delivering or knowledge of ELSA
  • Experience supporting SEMH is highly advantageous
  • Have an Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
