Are you an experienced EYFS teacher with a passion for early learning and a proven track record in Reception? We are currently working with a welcoming, supportive primary school in Sefton who are seeking a confident and experienced Reception Class Teacher to join their team on a long-term maternity cover, starting after May half term - 1st June 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a well-established EYFS setting where children are at the heart of everything the school does.
The Role- Full responsibility for a Reception class
- Delivering engaging, play-based learning in line with the EYFS Framework
- Supporting children’s early development across communication, language, literacy and maths
- Making accurate observations and assessments to inform next steps
- Working collaboratively with an experienced EYFS team and support staff
- Creating a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has recent experience teaching Reception
- Strong understanding of the EYFS statutory framework
- Confident in phonics, early reading and early numeracy
- Passionate about child-centred, play-based learning
- Organised, reflective and committed to high standards
- Able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
