Your new company Desian Education are proud to be working in collaboration with a St Helens-based infant school as they require an experienced and motivated teaching assistant to join their team on a full-time temporary basis from 20/04/2026. This school is easily commutable via public transport and will require you to commit to the end of the academic year.

Your new role: As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be joining an experienced and supportive year 5 class. You will work in partnership with the class teacher to promote the development and learning of your new pupils by adapting learning material to best suit attainment needs. Your main responsibility will be to support a new pupil on a 1:1 basis with an EHCP due to a developmental delay. Due to their needs they do at times present challenging behaviours.

To support their developmental goals, you will:

  • Plan and deliver speech and communication interventions
  • Guided reading and writing
  • Integrate into new pupil groups
  • Positive behaviour support

What you need to succeed:

  • Full “Right to Work” in the UK
  • An enhanced Children’s DBS check or willing to obtain
  • Relevant referenceable classroom experience
  • Be at least NVQ Level 2 Early Years or equivalent qualified
  • Be able to commit to a full-time long-term contract
