Desian Education are proud to be working in partnerships with a single-form entry primary school in Winsford that is at the heart of it’s local community as they require an experienced and dedicated teaching assistant to join their EYFS & KS1 team on a long-term full-time basis for the new term.
This is a full-time temporary position that will last the remainder of the academic year (subject to funding). In this role you will support across the reception and KS1 classes, supporting pupils of mixed/lower ability, some of which having additional learning needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.
Your new role:
As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be working across the reception and year 1 classes, working collaboratively with the teachers to promote all aspects of engagement, learning and focus. You will lead on 1:1 and small group support for pupils of mixed and lower ability, including those with additional learning needs. A small group of pupils within these classes can at times become disruptive and disengaged with learning so you will also encourage engagement at all times. Other duties will include:
- Delivering phonics interventions using the RWI scheme
- Delivery small group interventions in core subjects
- Intense 1:1 interventions with lower ability pupils within a breakout room
- Promoting engagement and focus by breaking down lessons material and implementing positive behaviour strategies
