Desian Education is seeking a motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join the SEN cohort of a large mainstream primary school at the heart of its local community. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in a nurturing, inclusive learning environment. Your new role: Based within a mixed EYFS and Key Stage 1 provision, you will support pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and cognitive difficulties. Working collaboratively with class teachers and the wider support team, you will help create a positive, structured environment where pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing tailored support to pupils with SEMH and cognitive needs.
- Supporting pupils' emotional regulation, social development and engagement in learning.
- Implementing positive behaviour management strategies to encourage positive choices and independence.
- Supporting learning activities, small-group interventions and individual learning targets.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote confidence and wellbeing.
- Working closely with teaching staff to maintain a consistent and inclusive approach.
