Teaching Assistant - SEMH Primary School

Desian Education are working in partnership with a specialist SEMH primary school to recruit a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position starting after half term.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to access learning, regulate emotions and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
The Role
- Provide classroom and 1:1 support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children who may display challenging behaviours
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and social development
- Work closely with teachers and the wider school team to implement support plans
- Create a safe, nurturing and consistent learning environment
- Encourage positive behaviour and model appropriate coping strategies
