Your new company Desian Education are proud to be supporting a two-form entry primary school in St Helens that is held in high regard by its local community as they are looking to appoint a qualified and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time temporary contract with an immediate start available and will last the rest of the academic year.
Your new role This is an extremely inclusive and welcoming school that requires a fully qualified teaching assistant to support pupils with SEN across the EYFS and KS1 classes on a timetabled basis. You will be supporting pupils with a variety of needs including ASD, non-verbal and LD, so the ability to take a pupil and EHCP-led approach to ensure that each pupil's needs are met is imperative.
Your duties will include:
- 1:1 speech interventions including SALT, PECs and Makaton
- Sensory stimuli and fine motor skills development
- Use of phonics and letters and sounds to support speech
- Implementing positive behaviour strategies
What you need to succeed To be considered in your application you must:
- Have relevant referenceable classroom experience
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD and non-verbal is highly advantageous)
- Be at least NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualified
