Your new company Desian Education are proud to be supporting a Chester-based two-form entry primary school that is easily accessible via public transport as they require a reliable and motivated teaching assistant to join their resource provision on a temporary basis. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join a school that has a superb reputation on a full-time temporary basis.

Within this role you will be joining an extremely supportive and experienced SEN department, working with an ASD and sensory provision and supporting the class teacher in the delivery of stimulating and engaging lessons. You will work alongside the class teacher and other teaching assistants to support the development of all your new pupils by tailoring your approach to best suit individual developmental needs and EHCP requirements. The pupils you will be supporting all have diagnosed ASD with several of them also being non-verbal.

Other core duties will include:

  • Sensory stimuli including sensory rooms and pressure therapy
  • Makaton and PECs to support communication
  • Positive behaviour support
  • Supporting during break and lunch times
  • Personal/intimate care

What you need to succeed:

  • Full “Right to Work” in the UK
  • An Enhanced Children’s DBS check or willingness to obtain
  • Referenceable experience
