About the Role
Desian Education are delighted to be recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Southport.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate KS1 specialist looking to secure a full-time, long-term teaching position from January 2027. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils through the important transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1 while delivering engaging and effective lessons in a nurturing classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for a Year 1 class
- Planning, delivering and assessing lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Creating a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing effective feedback
- Working closely with teaching assistants, colleagues and senior leaders
- Contributing to the wider school community

The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching in Year 1 or across Key Stage 1
- Confident delivering the Year 1 curriculum
- Experience supporting children's transition from EYFS is desirable
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one)
- Demonstrates a positive, nurturing and professional approach
- Is reliable, committed and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
