Desian Education are proud to be supporting a specialist SEN primary school in Northwich as they are looking to recruit a number of experienced and reliable SEN teaching assistants for long‑term and temporary to permanent contracts from September. Due to a jump in pupil numbers of the new academic year (up to 25%), this school is looking to appoint at least 10 teaching assistants. This inclusive school supports pupils between the ages of 2 - 11 with a diverse range of needs including low‑functioning ASD, non‑verbal, SEMH, PMLD, cerebral palsy, and more. This is an extremely rewarding and exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the education and development of pupils with profound needs.

Requirements:

  • Extensive SEN experience within a classroom or residential environment.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young learners.
  • Experience supporting complex and profound needs.
  • Comfortable completing personal/intimate care (only required with younger year groups).
  • Ability to effectively manage behaviours.
  • Ability to build strong constructive relationships.
  • Full “Right to Work” in the UK.
  • Commit to a full‑time contract consisting of 32.5 hours per week.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced children’s DBS screening.
  • Relevant referenceable experience supporting complex and profound needs within a classroom or residential capacity.
