General KS1 Teaching Assistant (with SEN Support) β Halewood
Desian Education is recruiting a versatile and dedicated Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teaching Assistant for a friendly partner primary school in Halewood. This is a full-time, long-term position starting right after the half-term break. This is a general classroom support role where you will assist the class teacher across Key Stage 1. However, you must be adaptable, as you will also provide targeted 1:1 support for various pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the classroom setting when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the KS1 class teacher with daily lesson delivery and group activities.
- Provide occasional, targeted 1:1 support for pupils with SEN needs within the classroom.
- Lead small group interventions to boost progress in reading, writing, and maths.
- Manage general classroom behaviour to create a focused, positive learning environment.
- Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom displays.
- Supervise pupils during transitions and break times where necessary.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience working within a UK primary school setting is highly desirable.

- Qualifications: A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) is desirable but not essential if you have strong experience.
