Desian Education is recruiting a proactive and versatile Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teaching Assistant for a vibrant partner primary school in Prescot. This is a full-time, long-term general classroom position starting right after the half-term break. While this is primarily a general classroom support role, you must be adaptable, as you will also provide occasional 1:1 support for various pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) as and when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher with daily lesson delivery and resource preparation.
- Lead small group interventions in core subjects like English and Maths.
- Provide occasional, targeted 1:1 support for various pupils with SEN needs when required.
- Manage general classroom behaviour to keep all pupils focused and on-task.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
- Supervise pupils during break times or transitions when required.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience working within a UK primary school setting (KS2 preferred).
- SEN Knowledge: Confidence in supporting various SEN needs on an occasional 1:1 basis.
- Skills: Strong behaviour management and excellent communication skills.
- Approach: Highly adaptable, energetic, collaborative, and patient.
- Qualifications: Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications (Level 2 or 3) are advantageous.
- Vetting: Must hold an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or be ready to apply for a new one through Desian Education.
