Desian Education are proud to be supporting a single-form entry primary school in Ellesmere Port that is easily accessible via public transport as they require a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to join their year 5 class on a full-time temporary basis from September.
Responsibilities
Your new role: You will be supporting a pupil with high functioning ASD on a 1:1 basis, acting as their main point of contact throughout the school day. This pupil is an extremely loving individual but has been struggling to retain their focus and becoming really disengaged during lessons. To retain focus and promote engagement you will offer tailored 1:1 interventions in core subjects and implement a myriad of strategies including widgets, fidget toys, brain breaks and movement breaks.
Qualifications
- Full "Right to Work" in the UK
- Expert knowledge of the KS1 national curriculum
- Experience leading small group and 1:1 interventions
- An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification
- Experience supporting SEND is advantageous
- An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
