Your new company
Desian Education are proud to be supporting an extremely well-regarded mainstream primary school as they are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated teaching assistant for a long-term part-time contract. This position consists of 16 hours per week (8:30 – 2:45 Monday to Wednesday) that will last the remainder of the academic year. This position may be extended into the new academic year.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting a pupil within the year 3 class on a 1:1 basis as they have SEMH. You will offer comprehensive tailored support to ensure that their needs are fully catered for and at the heart of your operations. Due to their needs, this pupil is struggling with their communication and integration. To support their development, you will:
- Deliver communication strategies/sessions
- Work in collaboration with external professionals
- Implement positive behaviour strategies
- Integrate into new pupil groups
- Provide interventions and boosters in core subjects
What you need to succeed
- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- Be willing to undergo an Enhanced Children’s DBS check
- Recent relevant and referenceable classroom experience
- Experience supporting SEN, SEMH is advantageous
