Your new company Desian Education are proud to be supporting a two-form entry primary school in Widnes that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to appoint an experienced and reliable teaching assistant for a 1:1 position within a reception class. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school with an outstanding reputation on a full-time temporary basis.

Your new role As a teaching assistant within this school you will be joining an experienced and supportive EYFS cohort, working in collaboration with a reception class teacher to promote the engagement and focus of pupils by utilising an array of learning equipment and building strong constructive relationships. Your main responsibility will be to support a high-function ASD pupil on a 1:1 basis. This pupil is an extremely outgoing and bright individual but due to an additional PDA diagnosis they can become dysregulated and disengaged with learning. To promote their attainment you will deliver a pupil-led curriculum model to lead them to learning and associate lesson material with their key interests.

What you need to succeed:

  • Full “Right to Work” in the UK
  • Be at least NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualified
  • Experience supporting SEN, ASD is advantageous
  • Be able to commit to a full-time contract consisting of 32.5 hours per week
