Your new company
Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with a Warrington-based three-form entry primary school as they require a confident and motivated teaching assistant to support the UKS2 (upper key stage 2) cohort. This is a full-time temporary position that will last the remainder of the academic year. Subject to funding this position may be extended into next academic year.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting across all UKS2 classes. You will support the class teachers in general classroom and behaviour management, taking a lead on positive behaviour support as there are a number of pupils with “big personalities”. You will tailor behavioural support dependent on pupil’s responses and personalities, implementing tailor strategies that pupils best respond to. As well as support with behavioural management you will also deliver 1:1 and small group interventions in core subjects including SATs preparation in the coming weeks.
What you need to succeed
- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- Good knowledge of the KS2 national curriculum
- A minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience in KS2 within the last 2 years
- An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
- Be at least NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualified
